Office Redo: The Desk, Moulding
One of the guest bedrooms which we now call My Office is slowly being transformed. Remember when I wrote about my office inspirations? Then I wrote about more pretty decor ideas on office ideas? Well, my hubby has built me a beautiful desk for me and I wanted to share some pics with you! This isn't the absolute completion of the desk but it's mostly done. Read below about the transformation process.

Well, my hubby has built me a beautiful desk for me and I wanted to share some pics with you! This isn't the absolute completion of the desk but it's mostly done. Read below about the transformation process.
The searching began and ended fairly quickly, surprisingly for me. Initially, my idea for a desk was sort of something country chic with beautifully cut french legs and a sturdy top. But, I just fell in love with this simple and modern desk I found on a blog I follow by Rhiannon Nicole. The desk is from World Market (photo on the right).
If you notice, the desk has a pull out drawer which can also be used as a keyboard tray. Hubs will eventually be adding a keyboard tray for me since the desk is a little bit tall for me. The paint color is from Glidden and is a White on White Satin from Home Depot. We have used that color on the ceilings and moulding in the house.
For one of our date nights, hubby took me to the shop (his office) to cut some glass for the top. He wanted to teach me how to cut the glass and after I made a sort of large and unrepairable boo boo, we decided that he should cut and finish the glass himself...since he's the pro ya know?
So again, here is the final, though still incomplete photo of the desk. The keyboard tray will come in the near future.
During the building process of the desk, hubby has also replaced the floor, closet and door moulding in the office. He has already caulked everything and it just needs to be painted. The previous owners had dogs that chewed up the moulding throughout the house and it is all in terrible shape. We are going from room to room and will eventually replace the moulding in the entire house.
Here is a sneak peek of the bookcase hubs has built me for the office! I'll write a complete post about it once I have finished painting it!
I'm off to finish decorating the house for Christmas because we're getting our tree tomorrow! Have a great weekend!
